have i ever talked about mia michaels in here? i dont think i have.
she’s basically the dance version of god.
haha, seriously.
she is my FAVORITE choreographer, and is an absolute GENIUS.
in all the years i was a dancer, i never saw another choreographer that had so much original creativity and passion in their work. and she has a twisted little mind, which is why i love her even more. hehe.
if you took all of tim burton…
his movies… his mind… his thoughts… his vision… and you molded them into a dance, it would be every single performance mia michaels has ever choreographed. she is just pure artistic brilliance. if i ever had the honor of training under her…. i’d probably lose my fuckin mind. i’m telling you, i adore her. when she creates a dance piece, she makes a story. and even if no story is there, you create your own… and there has not been one performance i’ve seen of hers that did not stay with me for YEARS. you REMEMBER her work… and in dance, thats a tough act to accomplish. there’s such intensity behind every move and every little step… you literally get paralyzed from start to finish.
or at least, thats how it is for me. and what i love so much about her is that even if you were never a dancer… her choreography can get to ANYONE and make an impact.
i was youtubing over the weekend and saw a performance i missed on so you think you can dance… and i had tears in my eyes the entire time i watched it.
for so many reasons.

but i had to post it in here.
she choreographed it, obviously, and it was incredible.
