i had an incredible weekend.

it started out pretty rough thanks to someone who dropped off the face of the earth and left me wondering what the hell happened… but it was certainly made up for in the last 48 hours. the party for new roomie, steve, was very last minute, so it wasn’t as big as our usuals… however, it was just as fun.
i love being around people that i genuinely enjoy. and believe me… its rare.
i didn’t get to sleep after the party until it was already sunday morning around 7:00am, due to a late night visitor that decided to stop over and spend the night. and no, don’t get it twisted. jess isn’t a whore. it was the first time… in a VERY long time… that i was laying next to a guy and talking for hours in the dark.
it was such a surprise to my evening… for reasons only my roommates know.

sober words and heartfelt conversation… fingertips along skin… and sun coming up…

…a year in waiting.

i woke up smiling.

a few hours later, my mom and dad were at my front door. they drove from jersey to spend the afternoon with me.
can i tell you?
it was probably the most fun i’ve had with them in years. we were laughing for hours, and it simply topped off my weekend. hands down.
i think when you’re 28 years old, and you finally realize your parents were also 28 once… just like they were 21… just like they were 16… you finally get it that they’re human.
they’re wonderful, and i’m so thankful to have them as the ones my heart calls “home”.

in other news, i have a growing obsession for paolo nutini.
he’s all i listen to at the moment, and i feel like that’s all you should be doing as well. hehe.
his voice is pure sex.
